Improvement in Depression Symptoms Overall Rank: 67
Percentage of adult patients with major depression who show a marked improvement on standardized measures (e.g., Patient Health Questionnaire -9 (PHQ-9) score less than 5, The Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (Ham-D) score of 7 or less) within 6 months of initiating treatment.
Changes to or the characteristics of the health status of an individual which may lead to distress, interference with daily activities, or contact with health services. This also includes symptom severity.

Rationale
This measure assesses the percentage of patients whose symptoms are reassessed by the use of a quantitative symptom assessment tool (such as Patient Health Questionnaire [PHQ-9]) within three months of initiating treatment.
The priority aim addressed by this measure is to improve the frequency of assessment of response to treatment in patients with major depression.
