Ongoing Mentorship for PHC Providers Overall Rank: 27 Best in Domain
On-site mental health worker mentorship of primary health care providers occurs in the practice as part of an ongoing (i.e., not time limited) collaborative care or quality improvement program.
Domain : Competence
Competence involves ensuring that the care provider’s knowledge and skills are appropriate to the care/service being provided. Competent providers are knowledgeable about the use of evidence based psychotherapy and about techniques to improve quality of care.
Additional Domain(s) : Shared Care
Rationale
Qualitative summary of the results indicated that the effects of C-L on PCP behaviour are relatively modest in scope and more reliably associated with multifaceted C-L interventions. There is little convincing evidence that C-L interventions cause enduring change in PCP behaviour after the C-L intervention has finished or towards patients under the care of the PCP who are not managed directly under a C-L intervention.

Level of Evidence
I: Consistently higher quality studies specifically focused on primary mental health care.
