Assessment of Psychotherapy Outcome Overall Rank: 142
Use of the Clinical Outcomes in Routine Evaluation - Outcome Measure (CORE-OM), a validated, 34 item measure of the outcome of psychotherapy and applicable to most forms of psychotherapy.
Changes to or the characteristics of the health status of an individual which may lead to distress, interference with daily activities, or contact with health services. This also includes symptom severity.

  • I am skeptical of the validity of many of these tools - how does one define improvement and from whose perspective?
  • I think outcome measures are critical as they should indicate whether & where improvements may be needed in education/services/techniques,etc.
  • *Clinicians may be too busy to use a 34 item questionnaire for every patient.
  • Waiting room completion might save time and increase effectiveness of apptmt.
